Batonbearer Nominations Now Open!

The Queen’s Baton Relay is coming and you can be a part of its journey to the start of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. 3,800 batonbearers are needed to carry the Baton across Australia. The first thing you need to do to be a Batonbearer is to be nominated for the role by someone else!

Rio Olympians Back in International Action This Weekend

Olympic synchro bronze medallists Maddison Keeney and Anabelle Smith will head Australia’s charge at the opening FINA World Series diving event for 2017 in Beijing this weekend. Keeney and Smith, who snatched bronze with a dramatic final dive in the 3-metre synchro in Rio, will be part of a five-strong Australian team competing in China.

Diving Australia has today announced that National Coach, Brisbane, Hui Tong will not be continuing as National Coach in 2017. Hui has been a major figure in Australian diving for the last 16 years, after enjoying an excellent career as an athlete in his native China, including a 4th place at the 1984 Olympics.

Sheehan Roars To Diving Gold Medal At Gold Coast Grand Prix

Australia’s Georgia Sheehan has upstaged her more fancied Chinese rivals to win gold in the women’s springboard at the 2016 FINA Gold Coast Diving Grand Prix.   Sheehan, who took a break from her Year 12 exams to compete, held her nerve while more fancied rivals struggled in windy conditions at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre.

China Posts Gold Medal Clean Sweep On Day One But Silver For Local Chavez

World diving powerhouse China won all four gold medals on off on the first day of finals at the 2016 FINA Gold Coast diving Grand Prix, but the home nation did not go home empty handed with Olympian Kevin Chavez winning springboard silver.   Chavez, who was only naturalised to compete for Australia on the eve of the Olympics, finished second behind China’s Jianfeng Peng. Chavez won his first ever medal for Australia, a springboard bronze, one week earlier at the Malaysian Grand Prix.

Australian Trio Safely Through To Grand Prix Diving Finals

Australian divers Kevin Chavez, Brittany O’Brien and Taneka Kovchenko have all qualified for Saturday’s finals at the 2016 FINA Grand Prix on the Gold Coast. In the one shock result from the opening day of competition, defending 3-metre gold medallist, Bowen Huang of China, failed to qualify for Saturday’s final.

2016 Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games | Diving

Compete in diving at the 10th biennial Jupiters Pan Pacific Masters Games held from 5 – 13 November 2016 on the beautiful Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. Diving will be held at Gold Coast Aquatic Centre on Saturday 12 – Sunday 13 November 2016 with the minimum age for competition set at 19 years of age.
