Australian Elite Juniors Championships Opportunities

Diving Australia and the State Associations have been working hard in putting in place a schedule of opportunities to replace the Elite Junior Championships which, as previously communicated, can no longer be held in person.  The logistical considerations have been challenging but we think we have been able to put in place some opportunities that will enable all of our Elite Junior athletes (even those currently in lockdown) to have something tangible to aim for in the coming months.

Declan Stacey Announces Retirement from Competitive Diving

Commonwealth Games and FINA Diving World Cup medallist Declan Stacey has today announced his retirement from competitive diving. Stacey departs the sport having left a lasting impact on the international and Australian diving communities.

Inaugural National Jump In Day a Success

On Saturday September 4, Diving Australia held its first ever National Jump In Day. National Jump In Day was held in six pools across the country to allow Australians to get on board and have a go at the sport of diving. More than 250 Aussies took part in a fun filled day of celebration and excitement which came off the back of Australia’s recent success at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Diving Australia has officially launched it’s brand-new website. The website offers diving members, stakeholders, and the broader diving community increased functionality which an easy-to-use interface.

Diving Australia Announces ACAS Awardees

Diving Australia has today announced the recipients of the 2021 Athlete Committee Athlete Support (ACAS) Program. This year Diving Australia and the Diving Australia Athlete Committee awarded 10 current and former Australian representatives a share of $20,000 to support education or business projects outside the pool.

2021 Australian Elite Junior Championships - Changes

Due to ongoing border restrictions and travel regulations Diving Australia has today announced changes to the 2021 Australian Elite Junior Championships format. It is now clear that an “in person” attended event cannot go ahead in Victoria in September, however, DA is currently finalising alternative options.

Shixin Li Bows Out Of First Olympic Games

Shixin Li has come up short in his first Olympic Games, failing to qualify for the Men's 3m Springboard semi-final. In his first Olympic Games Shixin Li, a father of three, struggled to find his form in the Men's 3m Springboard preliminary.
