Mathew Helm Appointed National Coach

Diving Australia is pleased to announce Mathew Helm’s appointment to the role of National Coach Melbourne, following a period acting in the role. Mathew comes into the position with a wealth of diving experience both as a coach and as a world class athlete. As a diver, Mathew became the second Australian male to win an individual medal at an Olympic Games with his history making performance in Athens.

2022 Australian Championships Calendar Announcement

Diving Australia is pleased to announce the dates and locations for the Australian Age, Elite Junior, and Open Championships for 2022. It has been a challenging process to lock in dates due to changing international calendars and ongoing COVID logistical issues but we are now in a position where we are confident these events will now be able to go ahead.

Gabi Ash To Make Olympic Debut

Former Australian pathways diver Gabi Ash will take to the snow this Sunday to make her Olympic debut at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games. Gabi, who began aerial skiing in 2016 after retiring from diving, will be competing in the Women’s Aerials on Sunday night alongside fellow Australians Laura Peel and Danielle Scott.

Mitcham Joins AIS Thrive with Pride Program

Olympic Gold Medallist, Matthew Mitcham, is among 14 athletes from 10 sports who today have been announced as ambassadors for the inaugural AIS Thrive with Pride Program. The program, through its ambassadors and engagement with inclusion bodies Pride in Sport and Proud 2 Play, aims to provide safe and inclusive sporting environments for all athletes to thrive.

Five Athletes to Represent Australia in Abu Dhabi

Diving Australia is pleased to announce five athletes to represent Australia in two diving disciplines at the upcoming FINA Abu Dhabi Aquatics Festival to be held December 19-20, 2021. Melissa Wu, Cassiel Rousseau, and Esther Qin will don the Green and Gold in diving with Rhiannan Iffland and Xantheia Pennisi representing in high diving.

FINA World Junior Diving Championships 2021 Update

Due to the ongoing global pandemic, and logistic and financial hurdles, Diving Australia has made the difficult decision to not send an Australian team to compete at the FINA World Junior Diving Championships 2021 scheduled for December 2-9, 2021, in Kyiv Ukraine.

Anabelle Smith Appointed to AIS Black Dog Mental Fitness Program

Anabelle Smith has today been announced as an ambassador for the AIS Black Dog Mental Fitness Program. Anabelle, fresh off her third Olympic Games, will join a group of 20 athletes from 16 sports in providing mental health strategies to children aged between 12 and 16.
