Men’s and Women’s 3-Metre Springboard 

Our women divers took centre stage on Day 7, with both Georgia Sheehan and Maddison Keeney competing in the 3-Metre Springboard event.

Sheehan was just shy of securing a spot in the top 18 to advance and bowed out of the competition in 19th place before the semi-finals, scoring 274.90 points in the preliminary.  

Teammate Keeney impressively placed sixth in both the preliminary round and semi-final with scores of 301.00 and 319.75 respectively.

Keeney will now advance to the Women's 3-Metre Springboard final Friday night at 7pm AEST. Keeney's progression to the Final all but secures Australia its first quota position to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The top 12-placegetters in the Men's and Women's 3-Metre Springboard and 10-Metre Platform secure their country a quota position to next year's Olympics.

On Wednesday, Shixin Li was in action in the Men’s 3-Metre Springboard. Out of a field of 67 athletes, Li was one of 18 to advance to the semi-final, scoring 393.45 points in the preliminary.

Li near equalled his score preliminary score in the semi-final, achieving a total of 394.55. It placed him 15th overall, which was not enough to advance to the final.
