The DA Athlete Committee is Looking for a New Member

The AC is a group of current and former athletes, tasked with establishing an ‘athlete voice’ that addresses the issues impacting the wellbeing of our athletes. As a sub-committee of the DA CEO, they ensure that the ‘athlete voice’ is taken into consideration during our decision-making process.
Key Responsibilities of AC Members
- Aid DA in carrying out its responsibilities regarding athlete wellbeing both during the athletes’ careers, and in retirement, and seek to ensure that appropriate recognition and assistance is available.
- Establish open lines of communication with athletes to identify issues that need to be addressed by DA, effectively relate to athletes and understand the challenges they may face from time to time.
- Provide recommendations to the DA CEO and Board on issues of relevance to athletes.
- Act as ambassadors for the sport, with both internal and external parties.
- Undertake special projects that may be relevant to the Committee and its Terms of Reference (TOR).
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum age of 18 years.
- An active athlete in the sport or former athlete who has not been retired from the sport for more than 12 years.
- Demonstrated willingness to contribute to Australian Diving by contributing experience and knowledge gained as a competitor.
- An understanding of the role of the Committee.
- An understanding of the Committee Member responsibilities and expectations
- Demonstrated high standards of sportsmanship, behaviour and integrity in and out of competition periods.
The successful candidate will be appointed on the recommendation of the DA CEO and DA leadership team. Please note that all Diving Australia Committees are bound by the Conflict-of-Interest (COI) policy.
