RACHEL DUTSCHKE ANNOUNCED AS NEW DIVING AUSTRALIA ATHLETE COMMITTEE CHAIR

Published Thu 15 Jun 2023

Diving Australia (DA) is pleased to announce London 2012 Olympian Rachel Dutschke (nee Bugg) has been appointed Chair of its Athlete’s Committee.

Dutschke takes over at the helm from David Lyons, who has been on the Athletes’ Committee almost a decade, and held the position of Chair for his entire tenure.

DA President, Liz Jack, offered her congratulations to Dutschke, and thanked Lyons for his service to the sport.

“David’s leadership has set the committee up well as it moves into a new phase, with one of our own athletes at its helm,” said Jack.

“I’m delighted to have someone of Rachel’s calibre and experience taking on this very important leadership role.

“I look forward to working with her and the rest of the committee on some important athlete-centred projects into the future.”

Dutschke thanked Lyons for the position he has left, and said she looks forward to getting straight into the role.

“I am so excited to be announced chair of the Diving Australia Athlete Committee,” Dutschke said.

“We have a super energetic and dedicated group and I’m thrilled to be able to help lead us to achieve some amazing things.

“I’d like to thank David for the position he has left the Committee in, and look forward to seeing how we can continue to grow in the days, months and years to come,” she said.
