National Squad Welcomes Brittany Broben

Published Wed 15 May 2019

Brittany Broben has been back in diving almost 12 months and after battling injuries, specifically shoulder surgery and rehab, she has all her competitive dives off 10m platform and is in very good form with a Gold Medal performance at the QLD State Championships and a score of over 330 points in her comeback competition.

Brittany has been a strong component to Australian diving success over the last decade having claimed a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games, and as a member of several major national teams.

Due to her amazing comeback, as per Clause 4.3 in the 2019 Selection Policy, Broben has been added to the 2019 DA National Squad by the selection committee and will be eligible for selection for the Australian Team to the 2019 FINA World Championships if she can meet the criteria.

“I never thought I’d get the change again to dive, little did I think I’d be back this quickly, so being back on the National Squad means the world to me and to have that support from Diving Australia is amazing,” Brittany said, “I have a long way to go, however I am enjoying the journey more than ever and excited to see what happens in the future.”
