KEENEY AGAIN IN THE MEDALS AT DIVING WORLD SERIES

For the second week in a row diver Maddison Keeney has picked up three medals and Australia a total of four at a World Series diving event in China.

20-year-old Keeney won individual bronze behind two Chinese divers in the 3-metres springboard, and then teamed up to win women’s synchro and mixed synchro at Guangzhou.

In a repeat of the result from one week earlier, two-time Rio gold medallist Shi Tingmao finished first with Chang Yani taking the silver medal.

Keeney and Anabelle Smith, bronze medallists in the 3-metre synchro at the Rio Olympics, followed up their silver medal from Beijing one week ago with another silver on the weekend.

Once again it was Shi Tingmao and partner Xu Zhihuan who denied the Australians gold.

Keeney and Domonic Bedggood won bronze in the mixed springboard synchro, following on from their silver medal in Beijing.

Bedggood then teamed up with South Australia’s Taneka Kovchenko to win bronze in the mixed platform, going one better than their fourth placing one week earlier.
