Diving Australia Launches Jump In Day

Diving Australia in conjunction with the state associations of Diving Queensland, Diving Victoria, Diving South Australia, and Diving Western Australia is pleased to announce the launch of National Jump In Day.

Jump In Day is a country-wide diving come-and-try day in eight pools across four states to be held on September 4, 2021. Participation in the event is free for all attendees.

Following the success of the Australian Olympic Team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, and the upcoming Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games just 11 years away, now is the perfect time for young Australians to have a go at the thrilling sport of springboard and platform diving.

Recently returned from her debut Olympic Games, Tokyo 2020 Olympian Nikita Hains said that the first step to success in diving is jumping in.

“I began my journey in 2013 after attending a come and try session. I came to the pool not knowing much about diving,” Hains said.

“Being a former gymnast, landing on my head rather than my feet seemed daunting, but I was ready to have some fun and give it a crack.”

“Little did I know my first jump off 10m that day, would ignite a love for diving.”

“Eight years and many hours of training later, I was able to fulfil my dream of becoming and Olympian. You never know, Jump In Day might spark your own Olympic journey.”

No diving experience is necessary; however, participants must be more than six years old and confident swimmers in deep water.
