Harriet Jones Selected to AIS Talent program

Published Wed 23 Mar 2022

Diving Australia congratulates Harriet Jones on her selection to the Women Leaders in Sport professional development program funded by the Australian government’s Office for Women and Sport Australia.

Harriet is one of 32 women from 20 sports to be selected in the intensive program which serves as a catalyst for further career progression in sport.

“The calibre of participants selected for this year’s AIS Talent Program is proof of the incredible skill and experience that already exists in Australian high-performance sport,” AIS Director Matti Clements said.

“But there is no hiding from the fact that women are still under-represented in both coaching and executive ranks.

“I would like to thank the Australian Government and Office for Women for giving the AIS resources to help change this and look forward to seeing the AIS Talent participants help drive greater diversity in Australian sport.”

Diving Australia General Manager High Performance and Pathways Steve Foley said the recognition reaffirms the high quality of talent and expertise of female diving coaches in Australia.

“Diving Australia has put together an extremely strong cohort of coaches in our pillar programs across the country,” Foley said.

“Each of those programs have women in key coaching roles contributing to the performance of our National Squad, and development of our next generation of Australian champions.

“Harriet is a vital player in our broader national and international success.”

Congratulations Harriet and thank you to Sport Australia for their continued investment in Australian diving and personnel.
