Five things to know about the Australian Age Championships

Diving Australia’s 2022 Australian Age Championships commence today in Adelaide, South Australia. Here are the top five things you need to know ahead of all the action kicking off.

1. What is the program of the Australian Age Championships?
The Opening Ceremony of the Championships will be held on Wednesday, 20 April at 3.40pm (local time), followed by the State Team Challenge. Competition runs from Thursday 21 April until Sunday 24 April with sessions starting at 9.30am every day except on Sunday, when the first event of the day is at 9am (all times local).

2. Who is participating?
More than 200 of the country’s most talented divers will take to the pool across multiple age groups from the 11 and Under to the 50 plus. Springboards and platform disciplines will be contested, including individual events and men’s, women’s and mixed synchronised diving, with FINA Degree of Difficulty criteria applied to all age events.

3. How can I follow along?
Starting from tomorrow Thursday 21 April, all the action from the 2022 Australian Age Championships will be live streamed via the official Diving Australia Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/DivingAus/.

4. Where is the event being held and can I attend?
The event is being held at the South Australia Aquatic and Leisure Centre (SAALC), the stunning swimming and diving venue located in the Adelaide suburb of Oaklands Park. The event is open to spectators. Please note that Diving Australia is not charging a spectator fee for this event, however, the SAALC may charge a fee to enter the venue.

As part of the SA Government’s COVID-19 policy, the SAALC spectator regulations will apply at this event, including the wearing of masks for patrons 12 years old and over inside the venue.
