WU PICKS UP ANOTHER WORLD CLASS DIVING BRONZE
Australian diver Melissa Wu has added another pre-Olympic bronze medal to her collection with a strong showing at a World Series event in Dubai overnight.
Once again it was a pair of Chinese divers who denied Wu a top-two placing, echoing results from this year’s World Cup and Beijing World Series events.
23-year-old Wu finished less than 15 points behind Chinese gold medallist, Huixia Liu, with fellow Chinese diver Yajie Si picking up the silver.
Wu will be aiming for a third Olympic games this year, and has put her name forward as a genuine medal prospect after consistent top-three performances in Olympic-class fields this year.
The Australian Olympic selection trials will be contested in Melbourne in May.
