Today marks the start of the Green & Gold Runway to Brisbane 2032, with sports across the country gearing up to make the most of this unique opportunity.

Celebrations are being held across Queensland to mark the occasion with 14 athletes preparing for the Commonwealth Games on 28 July to 8 August.

Our time starts now as the next decade offers the opportunity to unearth a new generation of talent as well as connect the Australian community to sports to encourage more people to Have A Go.

Across Australia, fans, athletes, coaches and volunteers can start to get excited because the 10-year journey will provide more opportunities to get involved and see the best of the best in action at international events.

Diving Australia CEO David Bell said it’s an exciting time for the diving community around the country.

“The next decade is going to present unrivaled opportunities for Olympic sports like diving and we have already started to work with our coaches, States and the state institutes programs to look at how we can support the next generation of talent,” he said.

“The green and gold runway will not only present great possibilities for athletes but also mobilize volunteers and our sporting communities to play their role in the Games and ‘Have a Go’.

“As we build towards 2032, we will be aiming to work with all levels of government and stakeholder groups to ensure we have the infrastructure and programs in place to not only attract future Olympians but also grow grassroots programs in our sport.”

Diving Australia is excited to see the sport grow over the next decade and beyond ahead of an exciting and crucial time ahead of a home Olympic Games.
