DIVING AUSTRALIA BOARD ANNOUNCE NEW BOARD LEADERSHIP CHANGE
Published Fri 28 Mar 2025
Diving Australia is delighted to announce Hayden Collins as the new Chair of the Board following the departure of Elizabeth Jack to the Australian Sports Commission.
Hayden joins the Board having held multiples roles in the sport industry from grassroots to national organisations, most recently as a member of the Swimming Australia Board where he was also Interim Chair for a period.
Hayden has also served as a Director for Swimming Victoria, Swan Hill District Health and the Murray Mallee Local Learning and Employment Network and brings a wealth of professional management experience, currently working as a senior manager with Deloitte.
“It’s exciting to be appointed to the Diving Australia Board and to the role of Chair. I can’t wait to continue Liz’s great work, working alongside Alex Newton, CEO and the DA team while bringing value to our members and ensuring our sport is best placed to move forward in the challenging Australian sporting landscape.”
“We hold a position of privilege as stewards of the sport and I’m excited to bring my experience to diving but also to learn and work with my Diving Australia colleagues, our athletes, parents and administrators to ensure that we as a sport are the best we can be.”
Following the recent announcement by the Queensland Government that a new National Aquatic Centre would be built in Spring Hill he said, “Australia’s golden opportunity, Brisbane 2032 provides a springboard (excuse the pun) for us to think about legacy at all levels of the sport.”
As aquatic sports we advocated strongly for the National Aquatic Centre. It will set diving up for success and enable the enhancement of our organisational strategy while also providing us with the opportunity to continue to invest in our foundational areas that include athlete and coach pathways and ultimately get more kids involved in diving,” he said.
“I am delighted that Hayden has accepted the Chair position at Diving Australia. I am looking forward to working with him as we continue to implement the Diving in Australia strategy alongside our Performance strategy for sustained long-term success” Alex Newton, CEO.
