The current CEO of Diving Victoria (DV), Hunsdale offers experience spanning membership, coaching, education, operations and commercial management, and he is well placed to deliver on the role’s remit which is to grow the sport at all levels to ensure the long-term success and viability of diving in Australia. "I'm very happy to be joining Alex and her team at DA, and being part of this exciting new chapter for the sport here in Australia," Hunsdale said.

DV experienced record membership levels and welcomed two new affiliated clubs to the association during Hunsdale’s tenure as CEO. Among his other achievements while at DV, Hunsdale oversaw the development and implementation of a new strategic plan with the DV Board and secured a new corporate sponsorship for the organisation.

With a background in recreational coaching and experience as the General Manager of BTYC Gymnastics – one of Victoria’s largest not-for-profit gymnastics clubs – Hunsdale’s extensive and varied skillset will boost diving’s participation efforts Australia wide.

DA CEO Alex Newton said Hunsdale would play a key role in the future growth of the sport.

“David has made a real and measurable impact during his tenure as the CEO of Diving Victoria and we are fortunate to have his experience and insights now working at a national level to support the States to grow membership and participation at the grassroots alongside ensuring that coaching and officiating pathways are fit for purpose,” Newton said.

“The DA team has had the pleasure of working with David on a number of projects, and we look forward to strengthening this relationship when David starts in the role,” Newton said.

Hunsdale will assume the position from 1 December with Diving Victoria soon to advertise for his successor.
