Departure of National Coach, Hui Tong
Diving Australia has today announced that National Coach, Brisbane, Hui Tong will not be continuing as National Coach in 2017.
Hui has been a major figure in Australian diving for the last 16 years, after enjoying an excellent career as an athlete in his native China, including a 4th place at the 1984 Olympics.
As AIS Head Coach, Hui was instrumental in Australia’s diving success at four Olympic Games, four Commonwealth Games and multiple World Championships and World Cups.
An AIS employee for some 16 years, Hui has been seconded to Diving Australia in the position of National Coach, Brisbane since the inception of “Australia’s Winning Edge”.
Diving Australia will shortly commence an international search for a National Coach to replace Hui.
Diving Australia is sincerely grateful for all that Hui has contributed to the sport of diving in Australia and wishes him all the very best for the future.
