Diving Australia (DA) is pleased to announce it’s Beyond the Boards (BTB) grants are returning in 2024, with a total of $20,000 in funding available to share amongst suitable candidates.

The DA Athlete Committee is now accepting applications from eligible individuals who would like to apply for a slice of the funding pool. Eligible applicants may apply to be considered for a single cash payment of up to $2,500. 

The objective of the grant is to support athletes as they set themselves up for a career post diving. Athletes may use the money to support their development outside the pool.

Current or retired categorised athletes, or previous athletes on an AIS Diving Scholarship may apply, with former grant recipients spanning Diving Australia Alumni, National Squad athletes and current and former SIS/SAS athletes. 

Current Australian Diving Team Athlete and BTB grant recipient Laura Hingston received funding to support her professional development and highlighted her appreciation for the financial support provided to her personal development outside of the pool. Laura stated that the BTB grant was a catalyst for expanding her reach as a keynote speaker. The grant provided opportunities to pitch and present to larger organizations and she is looking forward to continuing to grow her personal business outside the pool.
