Australia has named a strong team, including Commonwealth Games gold medallists and Olympic medallists, for this weekend’s FINA Diving World Series in Windsor, Canada.

Rio Olympic bronze medallists, Maddison Keeney and Anabelle Smith, and Commonwealth Games gold medallists Melissa Wu, Esther Qin and Domonic Bedggood will be joined by springboard specialist Kevin Chavez in Windsor.

Keeney and Smith won consecutive silver medals in the women’s 3-metre synchro at two World Series diving events in China earlier this year, with Keeney also winning individual bronze at the same events.

Smith also teamed up with Qin, a 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medallist, to win bronze in the women’s 3-metre synchro at a World Series event in Kazan earlier this month.

Wu, a three-time Olympian who is hoping to qualify for a fourth Commonwealth Games next year, has been easing herself back into competition since the Rio Olympics, focusing mostly on synchronised events.

With mixed synchro a new event on the FINA programme, Australia has been trialling several new combinations.

Competition starts Saturday morning, Australian time. The official event webpage can be found here via the link below.
