Aussie Divers names in 2023 Uniroos World University Games Team

Four Australian diving athletes will make their senior international debut as members of the UniRoos at the 2023 World University Games in Chengdu (CHN) from 28 July – 8 August.

Diving Australia is pleased to announce the selected athletes:

NSWIS Scholarship holder Kennedy Cooper, NSW (Macquarie)
VIS Scholarship holder Natalie Phan, Vic (Deakin)
Hudson Skinner, Vic (Monash)
QAS Scholarship holder Kiarra Milligan, Qld (University of Michigan).

The divers will join a cohort of Aussie athletes representing 10 sports for the two-week competition and will be looking to emulate the success of past divers representing Australia at the World University Games.

Commonwealth Games silver medalist Brittany O’Brien experienced success at the 2017 Games when she partnered with Emma Meaney to win silver in the 10m synchronised platform.

The diving team will be supported by coach and team manager Rebecca Stafford, an AIS National Generation 2032 Coach, based out of the Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS).

“This is an exciting experience and opportunity for all four athletes as it is their first time representing Australia at a senior international competition,” Stafford said.

“As a prior coach in the American College system, I am excited to have this opportunity to coach our Australian University athletes at the 2023 World Uni Games,” she said.
