2025 WORLD AQUATICS WORLD CUP DAILY UPDATE

Catch all the highlights from the 2025 World Aquatics World Cup as eight of our Aussie divers take on the World in Guadalajara, Mexico and Windsor, Canada.  

STOP TWO | Windsor, Canada (11-14 April) 

Stop 2 of the 2025 World Aquatics World Cup gets underway in Windsor on Friday April 11th, with the Canadian leg of the competition serving as the divers’ final chance to acquire the series points they need to qualify for the Super Final in China in May. 

First up at 12:02am AEST Friday morning is Hudson Skinner in the preliminary of the Men’s 3m Springboard, before Laura Hingston and Ellie Cole look to qualify for their second straight finals appearance in the Women's 10m Platform at 3:32am AEST. 

The new look Super Final will see 12 of the highest ranked divers, based on the combined points cumulated from both stops, progress through to Beijing, a reduction from the previous 16 finals spots.

 With some Australian divers sitting within or just outside the top 12 of their respective individual events after Stop 1, they will be eager to produce solid performances to secure a Top 12 position and progress to the Super Final.

Day One (Friday 11 April) 

The first day of action at Stop 2 of the World Cup got underway this morning, and it was Hudson Skinner, Laura Hingston, and Ellie Cole who got Australia’s campaign started in Windsor.

Hudson Skinner was able to improve on his result in Guadalajara when he took to the board for the preliminary of the Men’s 3m Springboard—finishing 25th.

Laura Hingston and Ellie Cole will once again move through to the final of the Women’s 10m Platform, with Cole finishing 5th and Hingston 10th in the preliminary round.

Tomorrow morning, Maddison Keeney and Alysha Koloi will compete in the preliminary of the Women’s 3m Springboard, while Cassiel Rousseau and Jaxon Bowshire take to the platform for the preliminary of the Men’s 10m Platform.

Medals will also be up for grabs tomorrow, as four of our divers set their sights on a podium finish in the Mixed Team Event Final.

Day Two (Saturday 12 April)

Team Australia finishes fourth, Maddison Keeney eyes off another medal, and Cassiel Rousseau qualifies for his first individual final of the World Cup, as day two in Windsor draws to a close.

Maddison Keeney, Cassiel Rousseau, Ellie Cole, and Hudson Skinner go one better in Canada, finishing 4th—just 11 points short of the podium—in the Team Event Final.

Alysha Koloi will progress, alongside Maddison Keeney, to the finals of the Women’s 3m Springboard after finishing 11th (Koloi) and 3rd (Keeney).

After bowing out in the preliminary round of the Men’s 10m Platform in Guadalajara, Cassiel Rousseau was looking to redeem himself in Windsor—and redeem himself he did.

Finishing 6th, Rousseau will be progressing through to the final alone after fellow Aussie Jaxon Bowshire missed out on qualifying by less than two points.

Remember to set your alarms early as a number of our divers get set to take to the pool in the final of the Women’s 3m Synchro, Men’s 10m Synchro, and the Women’s 10m Platform.

Day Three (Sunday 13 April)

Alysha Koloi and Maddison Keeney go back-to-back in the final of the Women’s 3m Synchro, and more of our divers shine on the penultimate day of Stop 2 of the World Cup in Windsor.

Our brand-new Synchro pairing are having quite the World Cup, picking up their second bronze medal in the final of the Women’s 3m Synchro this morning.

Laura Hingston and Ellie Cole both produced standout performances in the final of the Women’s 10m Platform, finishing 7th (Hingston) and 9th (Cole) in the world.

Also in action this morning was the young pairing of Jonah Mercieca and Jaxon Bowshire, who finished 9th in the Men’s 10m Platform Synchro.

The final day of World Cup Stop 2 gets underway at 12:02 a.m. AEST tomorrow morning, with more of our Aussie divers looking to secure their spot in the World Cup Super Final.

STOP ONE | Gudalajara, Mexico (4-7 April) 

Day One (Friday 4 April)

It was smiles all round after Day 1 of the 2025 World Aquatics Diving World Cup in Guadalajara, with our very own Laura Hingston and 2024 Paris Olympian Ellie Cole qualifying for the Final of the Women's 10m Platform. 

In other results, Aussie Hudson Skinner went up against a stacked field in the preliminaries of the Men's 3m Platform, however after a gutsy effort the young gun unfortunately didn't qualify for the final, finishing 26th.  

Coming up tomorrow morning, Paris Olympic silver medallist Maddison Keeney will take to the 3m Springboard board alongside fellow Olympian Alysha Koloi, while Olympians Cassiel Rousseau and Jaxon Bowshire will compete for a place in the Men's 10m Platform Final.

Day Two (Saturday 5 April)

Friday from Guadalajara saw more of our divers progress through to the finals and Ellie Cole, Alysha Koloi, Cassiel Rousseau and Hudson Skinner compete in the first medal shootout of the World Cup - the Mixed Team Event.

Paris Olympic silver medallist Maddison Keeney will progress to the Final of the Women's 3m Springboard after securing a finals place. Joining Maddison will be 2024 World Champion Alysha Koloi, who secured the final qualifiying position. 

Paris Olympian Jaxon Bowshire had a standout performance finishing 5th in the preliminary of the Men's 10m Platform. Bowshire moves through to the final as the only Aussie, after Cassiel Rousseau bowed out after finishing 14th. 

In the Mixed Team Event Final, a high quality showing by the Aussie team saw them take out fifth position - finishing above both the USA (6th) and Canada (7th). 

Be sure to set your alarms early for Sunday morning and tune in to watch an Aussie stacked final sessions, as our athletes compete in the Women's 3m Synchro (Maddison Keeney, Alysha Koloi), Men's 10m Synchro (Jonah Mercieca, Jaxon Bowshire) , and the Women's 10m Platform (Ellie Cole, Laura Hingston).

Day 3 (Sunday 6 April) 

The newly forged synchro paring of Maddison Keeney and Alysha Koloi made a statement to the world this morning, picking up bronze in the final of the Women's 3m Synchro at Stop One of the World Aquatics World Cup in Gudalajara. 

In their first showing as a synchro pairing the 2024 Paris Olympians had a dream start, picking up the first medal for Australia at this year's World Cup series. 

Ellie Cole and Laura Hingston also took to the pool for the final of the Women's 10m Platform. 

Both divers will take confidence from their performances, wth Hingston finishing 6th and Cole 11th. 

Jonah Merrcica made his World Cup debut this morning, pairing up with Jaxon Bowhire for the the final of the Men's 10m Synchro - the pair finished 9th overall.  

The final day of competiton at Gudalajara gets underway on Monday night with  a number of Aussie divers featuiring in the finals of the Women's 10m Synchro (Ruby Drogemuller and Elllie Cole), the Women's 3m Springboard (Alysha Koloi and Maddison Keeney) and the Men's 10m Platform (Jaxon Bowshire).

Day 4 (Monday 7 April)

Maddison Keeney takes out bronze in the final of the Women's 3m Springboard, as the final day of Stop One of the 2025 World Aquatics World Cup drew to a close. 

The Paris 2024 silver medallist certainly picked up from where she left off in 2024, with this morning's podium finish capping off a successful two-bronze medal-winning meet.

Fellow Gudalajara bronze medallist Alysh Koloi also produced a solid final showing, finishing 10th in the Women's 3m Springboard Final. 

Young guns Ellie Cole and Ruby Drogemuller paired up in the final of the Women's 10m Synchro, for what was Drogemuller's debut senior international event. The pair finished 8th in the world. 

Both Laura Hingstone and Ellie Cole backed up their performances in the prelims to finish 6th and 11th in the final of the Women's 10m Platform. 

Jaxon Bowshire finished the Aussie's Mexican campaign off in style, finishing 8th in the Men's 10m Platform final. 

Our team will now travel to Windsor, Canada, with Stop 2 of the World Cup getting underway this Friday (11 April) as Australia's best look to cement their spot in the Super Final.
