2021 Australian Age Championships - Update

Published Thu 01 Apr 2021

In some good news, the Brisbane Lockdown was ended slightly ahead of schedule today. As to what that means for Age Championships, we have decided to see if, over the next few days, States ease travel restrictions to (and importantly from) Brisbane.

We are very conscious that the event is quite close, but we would love to go ahead if we can – health and safety being of paramount importance. So we have decided to wait until Tuesday to see what restrictions remain and what impact they will have on our ability to host a full Age Champs. We will also be considering a limited Age Champs if only some States can attend, and whether or not we can facilitate a virtual component to those States that may no longer be able to attend in person.

Finally, if you would like to attend the event (if we can hold it) could I ask that you get entries in as soon as you can, and at the latest prior to Tuesday midday AEST. You do not have to pay on entering but having an idea of how many people would like to attend if it goes ahead would be very helpful for logistical planning. Rest assured, we will refund all entry fees if we are not able to hold the event, of if you do not physically attend.

Thank you for your understanding as we again deal with the impacts of COVID-19.
